Do avatars make you remember members more easily? I remember BiPolarBill's avatar quite well, thus I know him well. I guess the human brain remembers images and pictures more easily rather than plain text and phrases. Or is it my imagaination...?! :)

you are correct.. i am part of a board without avatars and when i go on that its quite hard to recognise and remember people.

I would say so.

In the days before avatars became popular people used to find creative ways to draw attention to themselves by writing their names such as: MuChMark, M*U*C*H_M*A*R*K and millions of variations
