I was on AOL typing an email about 5 minutes ago, when all of a sudden, my screen blacked out and went to a blue screen, and it said some **** like windows has been shut down to prevent further damage, and it said i may need to update my bios or something, and it brought up the following error message:

0x0000008E (0Xc0000005, 0X00000000, 0XEEE6DA2C, 0X00000000)

Physical memory dumping to hard disk :1
--------------------------------------------------------

Then the physical memory dump thing kept counting up from 1 and up. I was writing all of this down, and when I finished, it got to 100 and the computer restarted. What in the heck happend?

This could be a hardware issue. You might have some bad RAM.

Check
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q315335

Can you reboot? Does it start. Try to get more info from the blue screen if it shows again. Like at the top.

I use XP and it happened to me once - ended up being a bad stick of RAM I threw in the machine - no problems since....

except for SP1

Can you still boot into it, safe mode or otherwise? If so, check the dump log file and check Event Viewer for indications as to what caused the problem.
