Its saved me a few times, especially when ive tweaked beyond no return, just go into safe mode and choose the restore point restart it and all is happy...takes about 1 min...it can be COMPLETELY disabled if you so desire...

Tap the F8 key over and over while your computer is booting. Right before windows starts, it will bring up a boot menu where you can choose safe mode.

Do you have to be in "safe" mode?

What if you are in normal,as normal as can be,and do a system restore.

You can do a restore in normal mode also. Click Start | Run and type in msconfig there will be a button at the bottom that says restore.

Or you can find it in accesories, system tools.

you don't have to have restore on all the time to use it . you can turn it off auto
and make your own restore points when you
want, it will just save points that you
tell to.

Norton Ghost is Much Better Than ME system Restore.

I love ghost but you need a CDR or a Secong PYSICAL hard drive to be able to keep the image file for Multiple uses.
