yah, as I was saying, I have a cusl2 with a 133 fsb cpu. I put one stick of pc133 in there, it have no problem, if I put 2 stick in any dimm slot, it will lock up.
I have total of 4 stick of the same mem: Micro Q 128mb pc133, I put them in any order or combination. the system only work right with ONE stick of mem inside. (clean install of win2k over and over and over again)
the weird part is, my linux is not affected by the mem at all, I can have all 3 dimm slot occupied with no problem of locking or lag.
Hello,
The problem is really interesting. I presume that BIOS can register the whole amount of the memory (!)? Did you try (just as a test) to install any other Winxx?

Is it possible you have the /maxmem switch in the the Boot.ini file ?
If so, you might want to remove it.
not much....good lick

no, I THINK it could be incompatibility of mem with the motherboard. I shoved 2 stick of 256 mb genierc into the cusl2 and the 3 stick of 128 micro Q into my k7v and everything is fine now. =)

Maybe the mobo can only handle 128 M all together? Or your OS can only handle so much.. I don't think re-installing over and over is going to make any difference when it comes to the hardware of your system.

Win9x support a lot more than 128Mb. Think it was near the 512Mb-768Mb range. Try your memory sticks on another motherboard using Windows and see what happens.
