not opk, I merely want to edit the cd so I can have the serial number in there where I dont have to enter it every single time I install it. I have a existing unattainded.txt from a win2k opk kit, is there a file on the cd I can edit and shove the
[UserData]
ProductID="xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx"

in somewhere?

There has to be. My copy of Win2000 Server never asks for a Serial/CD-Key.

MSDN copies rarely ask for a product ID key.
One reason I really like 'em http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

If anyone figures this out, let me know.

Would something like this work on Win98SE and Office2K ?

We're regularly installing/reinstalling these around here.

I do believe there is something like you are needing in the Win2K resource kit. As I recall it allows you to write a script for unattended installations or remote installations. THAT is the limit of my knowledge on this subject. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Yep with the resource kit you can make a batch file where you set all installation options and then everything is done automatically....

I can tell you for a fact that they'll work because I have them. I dumped a file into the cd and reburned them, but I don't know which file to edit in win2k

Loveless, please go read the word doc at http://www.microsoft.com/WINDOWS2000/library/planning/client/deployops.asp and then tell me how to do it. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif
