I recently upgraded my brothers computer from Win95 to 2000.
Previous to the upgrade his sound card was working fine, now he has no speaker icon in the system tray and in device manager under sound, video and game controllers there is a yellow icon next to sound blaster. When he chooses properties it says this devive is working properly. He also said that when he tries to troubleshoot the device he receives error code 10 ?

any suggestions ?

What's is the model of your Sound Blaster ?

Have you tried updating the driver to a W2K driver?

MSKB: " This device is either not present, not working properly, or does not have all the drivers installed. (Code 10)
Try upgrading the device drivers for this device. "
