I'm going to start updating my web site soon, it was originally written using HotMetal Pro 4. I've got no money to buy anything new, so my choices of HTML editor are either my old copy of HotMetal Pro 4 or MS Frontpage, bundled with Office 2000.
I know neither are that good, but which do you reckon would be better?

FP would be more compatable with most other surfers since there all using IE.

Gotta agree with rangeral on that. You could even use ms word and save as an html, but that's really basic. If you want to go at html hardcore, then notepad is good enough. :)

I agree completely, Notepad is the editor to use. You will become expert at html which is really not a difficult language to use.
If you'd like a nice graphical editor though, try 1stPage by Eversoft.

Jad, I think I need to apoligize to you. I think I was a little tired when I read your post. Your links will answer many if they read all the posts in the message board. As for what scanner was used was AVG on mine and Norton from the wifes... Since the so called "virus", for the lack of a better word for it, is so old someone may have cleaned it up. Since it was poorly written java. A better description for it would be a resource hog that causes crashing. Doesn't that sound familiar. For what it's worth the porgram is a great piece of freeware. All one needs to do if they are nervous about it at all it just delete the file. The only thing it is said to do is freeze your browers/computer. There has been enough MS software that has done that.
Sorry again about misreading your post.
