I'm certain that this topic got a few,,
"NO it can't STUPID"
Anyway, my IE5.0 and 5.5 have had a bug for a long time, the page would start to load, then stop. Hit the stop button and WHAM it loads.
Well, I swapped out my ps2 mouse for a $25 MicroSoft optical USB mouse and the problem has stopped,, ? Odd..
I'm sure it's not just cured it's self, the ME machine(now gathering dust http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif ) and this Cyrix MII 433 w/98se both did the same irritating thing,, UNTIL I got this mouse..
Have my last few neurons finally given up the ghost ?

Was your previous mouse a MS product?
It's obvious where I'm going with that line of thinking. I wouldn't put anything past MS.

No, previous mice were a oem HP and a oem IBM
This MS mouse really speeds things up, strange..
I don't see how a USB mouse could possibly have ANY affect..
If it did the USB mouse should slow down the machine as it relies on CPU processing power to operate, right?
could it possibly have been an irq or software clash?

it's a conspiracy,
microshaft has built it in to "the product" so that you have to buy there "new product "in order for it to work.

After having this mouse for a full 10 days I must say,, I'm IMPRESSED.
The page loading problem that I've had with at least 3 different computers seems to be gone.
The ability to use on my leg is much easier than with a ball mouse.
I sit in my leather recliner with my mouse on my leg looking at a 19" Monitor 6 feet away running on 800x600.
This is a real boost to web page loading.
I check ALL machines for IRQ conflicts, forced hardware and problem devices.
Windoze is bad enough without having hardware conflicts.
I can't say enough as to the ease of use this mouse has given me..

Did you try changing the PS/2 refresh rate to a higher value (like 200 MHz) with the other mice? Check this out:

I happen to like Microsoft Optical mice...
Although the price on them is kind of steep for a mouse (Since gaming really seems to make me go through a lot of them http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif)
