What video editing software do you recommand

I am using ULEAD VideoStudio se dv version 3.0 appers to be slow abd might have bugs, Sustems is 1 gig TB 80 gigs cougar card 512 ram ANy ideas? Thanks

Are those 80 Gigs in a RAID array of two (or more) drives? If not, the processing will appear slow and will be prone to dropped frames.
