Hey Ya' All....
Sounds like a easy one but....
I've got Win 98#2 on our two machines
We have installed all utilities needed to compete together with " Unreal " game on our network...and it works Great.....
The question we have is:
Can we use one computer on the Internet and share the Internet with the other computer?
We have read up on it and tried it but for some reason The IE won't open on the computer that is not on line......
We have tried almost everything..
Anyone ever run into this situation???
Hope someone can guide us the right direction
Thank Ya' all!!

You need to install Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) from the CD Control Panel/Add and Remove Programs/Setup, It will have you make a floppy, etc to load on the second machine.

tinwindow, this is how i shared my connection, i have 1 comp with 2nics(1 for internet 1 going to other comp)on the comp with 2nics i installed analogX proxy and binded an IP address of 10.0.0.1 to the NIC going to the shared comp.on the shared comp i set Explorer to use a proxy at 10.0.0.1, and also gave the nic on that box 10.0.0.2.the program does the rest.I had a to totaly reformat and i think it was Microsofts ICS program that had "issues" with zonealarm..just a thought about using ICS

You have to configure IE on the guest computer for a LAN connection (basically, check "Never dial a connection" and make sure everything is UNchecked in LAN). On the host machine, make sure under the Share tab of the connection properties that Internet Connection Sharing is checked. If the latter is not visable, you need to install ICS.

Hey Randy,
I think we did that thing with the ICS but every time we click the IE a page opens that says it can not be found,,,,,......
Do I need additional software ?
Both computers show up on the network....
I just don't understand....
