Anyone know if the classic game "lemmings" exists in a version that runs on todays PC's ??. If yes, where can i find/buy it.

I still have the original DOS version
and that runs well in my Win98

i dual boot with Win98/Win2k

Yeah your gonna need 98 or 95 as 2k/XP will spit it out

well, not Everybody knows lemmings, my younger cousins don't know lemmings

they grew up in the Win98 era, and not in the DOS 1.0 era like we did :t :p

i grew up in the amiga era too.. great fun :).

i remember in DOS, we got out first two PC's (486's i think) and we played DOOM over a direct connection, oh man those were the days! of course she owned me bad style, but now i can beat her :D

First experience of a real computer - at 5 or 6 my dads old Oric -- now THAT was seriously difficult AND fun at that age :D

What about XP's compatibility mode. If i set it to win 98/95 - would lemmings run then ? I'm at work now, so i can't try it out.

Yes, there is a new one that runs with 3d accel. I got it at Babbages for 5 bucks..yes, it runs under XP

Did a search at Babbages - only versions for NES, SNES, GB and PSX.

Ive used the compatibility mode thing for 2k on DOS games and it sucks.. about as much use as a chocolate fireguard... cant get anything remotley DOS to run under it :(

...best bet would be win 9x

Found it :) using Ka ahem z..

YES i know i'm a bad boy, but i can't get it anywhere. It's as rare as a sober swede. If i can't buy it, it can't be that illegal.

It's the original with all levels + Oh, no more lemmings - and the best part is - it runs perfectly under XP PRO without any fiddling.

On Mayhem level now..... I forgot how much i loved that game.

I'm probably going to be flamed now, like i did in another thread.

I find using p2p to find "deleted" games acceptable and dont see why ppl calss it as piracy, if they dont SELL it, how else you onna get it??
