OS I mean. -M braindead 03-14-2001, 12:40 AM if your using windows 98 click start>>settings>>control panel click on the network icon then change the primary network logon to microsoft family logon restart that should do it Vic Fingers 03-14-2001, 02:14 AM 1) Go to "Network" in the Control Panel. Change the Primary Network Logon to either "Windows Logon" or "Microsoft Family Logon". Close the Network window by clicking on "OK", but don't restart when prompted. 2) While still in the Control Panel, open "Passwords". On the User Profiles tab, click the radio button for "All users of this computer us the same preferences and desktop settings" then "OK". 3) Go back to "Passwords" in the Control Panel and on the Passwords tab, select "Change Windows Password". One at a time, select the items you want to change and click "OK". Type in your old password if you have one; leaving the "New Password" and "Confirm New Password" boxes empty. Click "OK" twice and restart your computer. 4) If you happen to get the logon box again, click in each box to make certain it's empty, then click "OK". You'll not see it again. **If you have forgotten your password or had inadvertently entered one in the logon box by mistake, you may have to search your hard drive for *.pwl files. Delete them or rename them by changing the extension to .old or something. DoubleDevil 03-14-2001, 06:51 AM Thanks alot for the help and yes i am running windows 98se. wyvrn 03-14-2001, 11:01 AM If you are the only one that uses the computer, you could try deleting all .pwl files, rebooting, and then setting up a blank password (when it asks for a pass just leave it blank and click ok). That way it will not ask you for a password and boot straight into windows. MiKe85 03-14-2001, 02:19 PM Which steps would wipe it out so i wouldn't even have to hit "enter" before it fully logs into windows? (Running win98 SE) Mike Fingers 03-14-2001, 02:34 PM Follow steps 1 - 4 in my previous and you'll never have to deal with the logon dialog box again, but technically, you won't be logged in. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif How to Prevent a Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows Me Logon Prompt at Startup (http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q152/1/04.asp?LNG=ENG&SA=ALLKB&FR=0) MiKe85 03-14-2001, 04:14 PM ahhh didn't even notice about that http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif Mike SysOpt.com
