Can anyone tell me why microATX Duron and Athlon mobo's exist? I thought that these CPUs require 250W-300W PSUs? A microATX case usually only provides 150W.

If you're going to need a 250W-300W PSU in a tower case then why on earth would you want to purchase an mATX board?

I'm confused. I've got a 145W mATX case doing nothing but I guess I can't use it with a Athlon/Duron CPU and PIII CPUs are too expensive - any ideas?

Tyan and maybe others make a Socket 7 ATX mobo and you can get up to 550MHz in an AMD K6-2.

You can purchase another power supply, and put it into a mATX case. Cases usually come with a power supply, but you can definitely purchase the two separately if you wish.
