I am helping a friends son put together a computer out of spare parts. He got a little to rough taking out the battery and broke the ground slash retainer off, it's the style of an L on its side short end in the board, and long side over the battery and touching the + side. Well with a little twisting of an old cheesy fan clip I have connected the wire to the base of the short end of the L at the mb and twisted and created tension on the + side of the batter to create a ground and create pressure to hold it into place. But, tiny problem..(dumb question here sorry) the very end of the wire looks like it might be making contact with one of the unused ISA slots. Now should I be thrilled I have it grounded an additional place, http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif or is it going to be a problem? Also is there glue I can use that is also conductive to maybe put a spot on the battery, were the wire touches? Thanks guys, for all your help http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Have you thought about using a dab of Dielectric tune up grease, you can find it at any auto parts store or maybe radio shack

I THINK Aluminum Epoxy, JB Weld and several others are steel/aluminum filled. Any should work as a conductor..

Check with auto parts stores,
BTW, dielectric means it does NOT conduct..

you might even find the connector at radio shack, or just rob another mb. unsolder the broke one and solder the good one in.
