Hi Guys!

I am currently using P4B533-E. My computer is running Windows XP Pro with thel latest drivers & patches and with BIOS ver. 1009.

Since I prefer to hook up one IDE device to one Individual IDe channel, so I hook up my CD writer and DVD-ROm to IDE 1 and IDE 2 respectively. I have one Maxtor ATA133 60GB Hard Drive and connect to IDE 3 and formatted as NTFS.

Unfortunately, my Maxtor 60GB Hard Drive was dead last nite without any warning and after using the Powermax diagnostic utility and fidn put my drive fail the SMART test.

So my quick question since my Hard Drive is not connected directed onto IDE 1 or IDE 2, may I know is there any software available in the market to enable to monitor the SMART status of my Hard Drive (Connect to IDE channel 3 though) at the background of my PC.

Any suggestions? Advises? Thanks a lot!!!

Your bios should have a smart feature in it, most do. To warn you of impending doom, otherwise backing up your data on a daily or weekly basis regularly would save you from any real grief your system might give you.
