i'm doing some digging on a timeline discrepency,and need to know.if an email sent display in my inbox(oe5).is the actual time(within reason) sent..example is 2 hours within the realm of possibilities..

Just depends, some comes in seconds, some in hours. Most probably comes in seconds or minutes but it can be delayed for some time. You never know when a server might be down somewhere or something like that.

For what its worth, PC World does reviews of ISP's. One of their tests is to send emails across country to another tester to see how long it takes.

longest it took mine was just over 5 minutes.
most is around 20 seconds.

i have pesonaly sent some to my work that took a full day.

i did think of server or problems of some kind.but under normal operating conditions, it should arrive within a minute you would think..oh well, i'll have to leave this as too many variables..thanks

I've used half a dozen ISPs and sent e-mail to myself: about 15-20 seconds.
