It's not a big deal but i bought the non network version because it's a lot cheaper. Now i'm curious if i buy a network card to plug in what kind is compatable with this printer and is it expensive.

It's sometimes a pain if when the computer connected is shut down.

to my knowledge it's Propietary of the HP
so say you put in a 3Com NIC card, i don't think it'll work

you might be better of if you use a Printer-Server Hub instead, if Price is your concern

You would need to get a jetdirect card for that printer. It depends if you want 10 or 10/100 speeds. Just go to hp.com and look up accessories for the 2200

J3110A

hp Jetdirect 600n internal print server, Ethernet, 802.3 (10Base-T)

$254.99

that is assuming you want an internal card. you can get external print servers also.
