I made an icon, and all of the parts are there including the little arrow. When I click on properties, I have the same info that a correctly operating icon has but when I click on mine it get the "Open With" box rather than being taken to the file. I want it to got to a specific file folder.
Ideas?
Thx in advance...

The easiest way would be to create a shortcut to the file folder. Then choose the icon in the shortcut's properties.

Should I cut and paste my home-made icon into the "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHELL32.DLL"
file? My icon is not in the icon library...
The icon itself can be in any folder. I have various icons strewn about in different folders.
But for the folder for which you want to use the icon, in that folder click on the properties and change icon. Then select your icon and apply. Now your icon will be with your selected folder.

The problem seems to be that it is not in the Icon library....C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHELL32.DLL
How do I get it in there so I can choose it?

In the "Change Icon" dialog box there is a "Browse" button at the bottom that will allow you to choose any icon from your hard drive
