tually my IMP:: Sound Device Error or Bug in Windows Update

hope u remember me!

well this time i have came up with a new problem. This seems to be very complicated one.

I have AC97 Sound Chip Builtin in my EPOX 8K7A board

actually my system was goin gr8 but when i tryed windows update last time it showed that a new driver version (digitally signed by microsoft) for my AC97 Chip. when i tryed to update to the latest driver my system got hanged in the middle and i had to manually restart the system. after restarting my sound didnt work and when i tryed to install my sound drivers again it got hanged every time. now i have installed the latest drivers and the device shows that it is running perfectly well but in ....(pic attachedfrom the device manager ) i figured something wrong with the driver. look at the pictur u will figure my problem. I cant start the driver\device as it says that it is not started.

First un-install
also select show hidden devices

then also un-install those hidden ac 97

then reboot

and when windows ask for drivers, select cancel

then install the drivers manually or from your CD :t

Check to make sure that the sound chip is enabled in BIOS, Then delete the sound module in Windows device manager and restart, let windows find it from scratch, and re-install your old drivers as a test, if it works do the same thing again but this time use the new drivers.

Looks like AG beat me to the punch, but I'm going to post anyway. :)

what error or screens are you getting?
