Hello all. My problem is this.. I switch my pc on and it posts ok but just before the window loading screen comes up it hangs and gives me a blank screen. Now if I switch off and switch back on again it boots ok. ????
I have :
K7S5A motherboard
XP2000 Amd
256MB DDR 266mhz
Geforce 4 Ti4400
Windows XP
Sony writer
Seagate 60Gb Hard drive
400W Power Supply
Any Suggestions???????

First I would disconnect anything but the absolute necessary...video, ram and hard drive (A: drive too if present) boot and see if this helps. (reseat the RAM module sometimes helps.)
Second...do you have some sort of master switch between your computer and the AC wall socket?...if you do, try this. Apply AC power directly to the computer at all times, turn the computer on and off by the front case switch. Reason?...there is a second 5 volt supply that runs all of the time, and controls the main power supply. The ATX psu was designed with it having power applied to it continusly. If this corrects the problem, then you may need to find a way to apply the 120 VAC to the computer prior to hitting the on switch.

i've been speaking to some people and they say that there is an ISSUE with some motherboards and the geforce cards where the geforce card doesn't come online quick enough when needed and thus you get a blank screen and rebooting cures this due to the card WARMING UP. An upgrade of the bios is neede to overcome this. Could this be feasable???
