I was all set on buying the Handspring Visor Deluxe (retail $250) but today the Palm m105 comes out (retail $199). I have discounts for both, equaling $150 for either one... so which one do you guys think is the better deal? Handspring is completely compatible with PALM stuff (uses Palm OS) and also has the Springboard which works like a gameboy... pop it in the top and it's plug and play. I'm not sure how the Palms work, but would like to know if I should get the Palm over the Handspring...
Opinions?

I am not familiar with the palm 105, but I know the m100 is their budget line and not on par with a Visor Deluxe (8MB similar to Palm IIIxe).
However, the Handsprings (at least the older ones) cannot have their OS upgraded. Chances are though that you will by another PDA before you have to upgrade the OS.
If the Palm m105 has 8Mb of memory, then you just have to decide if the spring board modules are important to ya.
Yes the Palm m105 has 8MB now but I don't know too much about the Palms since I didn't think they had anything in my price range that had 8MB... until now.
The other thing that gets me (and I know I shouldn't shop this way) is that the retail price for the Handspring is $50 more, which tells my half-working brain that it's a better product for some reason. The m105 looks a lot sturdier and carries the Palm name... this is why I need the help of you guys to decide. I doubt I'll be buying many of the Handspring modules anytime soon since they go for $150+ each. I also am looking for FUTURE expandability.
Anymore help is appreciated.

From the testing and research I've done, the Palm is more compatible with the different email programs than Handspring (among other features). I think it's a better deal. But do the research on both. The more features and things that the one can do will go a long way because down the road you'll want to do more with it.

Rh71,
With having worked with both the M and IIIxe I would go with the IIIxe (even with it beening the "outdated" model)as it has a larger screen and with the current pricing on them your right in the same pricing range. but I would take the Visor over the M series if those were the only choices
Thats my 2cents http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
so now that I have my Visor in hand... what are the best places on the web for it? I've already got http://www.avantgo.com (though the sync feature for them seems to be down right now)... anywhere else? Freeware, etc. maybe?
Thanks.
