first of all i reformated my comp. now everytime i restart ..i have to do it manually. .... what could be the problem? :( :(

Umm...please elaborate. When you click Start > Shut Down > Restart, what happens? When you click Start > Shut Down > Shut down, what happens?

when i click restart it doesnt start....it self. but when i shut down it shuts.

ahhh... i c

so it sounds like there are Programs Hanging the computer when you try to reboot.

which OS are you running?

run MSCONFIG.EXE

then DISSABLE all the stuff in STARTUP
after that Turn off your PC

then Start your computer

and after it gets to windows try to RESTART :t

wait i said this wrong. my comp restart but then.... the comp doesnt turn back on like it should when its refeshly restarted...

Grrr...do the lights go out on the PC when you choose Restart? Must you manually switch it off and then back on or does it hang when it gets to Windows?

i click start. then retart. then later when its restarted. after that the system just hangs. it should come back on.

Ok, good so now were are talking about a hardware error and not a software problem

Go into your BIOS
and set your IDE to add a 1 second delay

At what point does the system hang? After POST (BIOS) or during the Windows splash screen?

after i click retart from windows. the system retart right. after everything is restarted. my monitor is just blank. and the comp is on. but i dont see the bios or anything like that. so what i have to do is hold the retart button atleast 3 seconds. then it'll come back on. ...hmm dont know whats wrong here...

Try a BIOS update. If you power supply is old or questionable, get an upgrade.

binqker, the unwritten rule in Windows tech support is that you must tell which version you have. You haven't told us yet. In fact, there's much that you haven't told us - like what was changed on your PC before this happened. We are not PC gods and cannot read your mind - we need information.
