I'm interested in building a new system for myself, but I don't have a whole lot of expericnce. Everyone here on the boards has been very helpful with all of my questions re: installation of additional hard drives, operating sys. questions, & CD-RW install, so I thought I'd see if you guys had any suggestions where I should start.
I'm not a big game player, but have kids who may be in a few years. I do have a pretty extensive collection of mp3. I mostly use my system now for music and internet related stuff. I would like my new system to be completly upgradeable. Let me know if you have suggestions where I could gather info, or if you have component suggestions. Thanks!

Also I wouldn't take gameplay into consideration when you will only use it for that in a few years. As fast as things are changing your machine will probably be so old and obselete (sad but true) that you will need to get a new one then anyhow.

I don't know what kind of pc you have right now but only for internet surfing and hearing to music a pretty "lame" pc is enough. So maybe upgrading your current PC is better then buying a totally new system.
Maybe a stick of RAM is enough to speed up you machine for now?
