The color of a CDR disk only matters to the laser. The color you see with your eyes, are not necessarily what the laser sees. Reflectivity and the dye used when making the disks is what matters most.

The elcheapo disks that we buy at the discount places and sometimes with rebates that cover the total sale, arn't much. There are backyard workshops all over Asia making these cheap disks. Most will burn ok, but how long they last is another story. If you just need to make some short term backups, then most anything your CDRW will burn is fine, if you will need these backup to last awhile, I suggest you spend the few extra bucks and get the best you can find.

Read the following two URLs...they are both pages at CDMediaWorld, I am just copying both page URLs to get you there quicker.

never been of much importnace to me, i use the cheapest i can get, in fact Philips ( a relatively good make and alos my CDRW manuf.) are the worst ive used regarding errors, while Tevion - who ive never heard of and were like £3 for 10 700mb CD's ive only had one dodgy disk in 20 with so far :)
