I have an APC Smart-UPS 1000 protecting my small peer-to-peer network and run Powerchute Business Edition. However, for the system to shut down gracefully when unattended I need command files (.cmd) for the programs that are running almost continuously - AutoCAD, Office 2000 (Word, Excel and Outlook) and Internet Explorer. APC do not provide any and I have no idea where to find some or how to write my own. Any advice would be appreciated.

You should write to the support desk for the programs you use to get those CMD file details. What you want to do is save and exit, right?

You should also write APC - they are very helpful.

the software you need are freely available at APC

just search for the model and software download

i use the 700 version of yours

also make sure that your Com 1 or Com 2 is working with the Serial cable that comes from the SMART UPS to the PC
