I have a raid card set up, several other media cards etc etc...If I wish to reformat hard drive now that I know what I know, will all the bios information be affected or will everything be recognized and remain the same? Thanks

Format of a hard disk does not affect BIOS/CMOS settings.
On older computers that require BIOS extensions on the hard disk in order to recognize the proper size of a disk, and some laptops that have BIOS extensions on the hard disk, low-level format and fdisk can cause problems.
You will have to reinstall all the drivers so make sure you have copies of them before the format. Only basic drivers are stored in the bios, keyboard, ide etc.
