Hello I am very new to linux I had an old computer lying around, so I installed Red Hat 6.0 Hedwig on it for experimental purposes. I intentionaly left out the Ethernet card so I could get some hands on installing hardware with in Linux, but that is where I am stuck at now. How in the world do I get Linux to recognize my NIC? I appreciate any help I have already learned a great deal about Linux and UNIX just wish I would have done this a couple of years ago. My system specs are
ABIT SM5-A
Cyrix P166
32 megs SIMMS
6gig Quantam Bigfoot
4x Cdrom
Floppy
and a newly installed but not yet recognized 10/100 Realtec Ethernet
I hope to have an Apache web server running before to long.
