Has anyone been experiencing problems connecting to any SC games on Bnet? I've been trying to host a game with my next door neighbor. We're both using cable modems through Cox, and we're both unable to join any games, or host any without a high latency error message. From what I understand, SC needs UDP port 6112 open to play. We're both running ZA, and have allowed starcraft.exe to connect through all ports and protocols. What's even more odd is the fact that we still have this problem with our firewalls disabled. Diablo2, Half-Life Mods, etc. run just fine with ZA. But somehow I doubt that our firewall's are causing this problem, as another friend of mine is experiencing the same deal with his dial-up connection and no firewall. And yes...we all have legitimate cd-keys. All of us are running Win2k Pro (SP3), and way beyond the min sys requirements. What gives? :(

bnet has never been known for being reliable or fast, but you might want to completely disable your firewalls justto make sure it isnt interfering.

I can't really see where the problem lies at the moment.
But I will say I play on the servers, just about everyday.
The statement about them not being fast or reliable, I've never ever found any problems with the at all

Thanks for the reply AllGamer, but I doubt this is a problem with port settings through ZA. By default, when you allow a program access through both trusted and internet zones, it's allowing it to use all ports and protocols. This is probably why Diablo 2 works without any snags (which ofcourse utilizes 6112 through 6119 & 4000). I'm up on Bnet often playng that. Still, I did try Blizzard's "remedy", but it didn't work. This problem persists even with ZA diabled, and my friend (which has no AV or Firewall installed), has the exact same problem.

If Diablo 2 Works, the StarCraft should have absolutely no problems, since they all uses the same ports.

ok we know you are in San Diego, CA, what about your friend?

i'm in Oregon, and i have no prob, when i was in Toronto, i dind't have problem either

Do you guys uses any Router?, aside the Zone Alarm?

Here's here in SD too. My cousin in LA is playing it all the time through DSL with ZA installed. This is too odd. None of us are using routers either.
