Hi,
What is a good place to start for learning to program C++? I would like to know what good books there are available for beginners. Thank you very much.

2 books that might be useful:
Thinkin in C++ (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0139798099/qid=1032739597/sr=1-49/ref=sr_1_49/002-9244238-1433666?v=glance&s=books)
Teach Yourself C++ in 21 Days (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/067232072X/qid=1032739485/sr=1-19/ref=sr_1_19/002-9244238-1433666?v=glance&s=books)
I used the Thinking in C++ book when I took a class. Read the user reviews on Amazon.com and search for more C++ books there.
