I know in the past with other operating systems I would remove the device from device manager, drivers from add\remove programs and registry and select show all hardware where I would then select standard display(vga) and reboot, then click on the exe for my new drivers, install them and reboot. That was how I did it for my GF3 and Matrox G400 card.
Now for windows XP, if I go to add\remove nvidia drivers, reboot, hit F8 and select vga mode, boot up it tries to find the vga drivers but when I try to select show all hardware there is nothing in there but the nvidia stuff. I have tried scanning the xp cd, I just need to know what to do at that point to correctly install the vga drivers so I can install new detonators and try to fix the looping blue screen problem. I have installed SP1 and it still does it. Thanks

What exactly do you get in BSOD ? Also, more system specs might help.
As for installing drivers, I'm just letting WXP to detect my GF3Ti200 and install its own drivers, and after everything is set and working I just installing the new ones ON TOP of the default.
Works for more then year :)

If you've used the Detonator Destroyer (http://www.guru3d.com/detonator-destroyer/), just run the new driver setup in VGA mode. That should do it.

Bipolarbill- are you using the detonator destroyer in win xp, it doesn't say it supports XP or win 2k only 95, 98 and me. Just wondering. Thx

ND- I have all but got the problem fixed on my system which is only a p3 500, 256 mb pc133. I built a new system for a friend, turns out after many hours of trial and error I got a bad ati radeon card from new egg, they are sending me a new one but in the mean time I put my own GF3 card in his system just so he can use it. When the new ati card comes this week I want to make sure all the nvidia stuff is off his system so there will be no conflicts so thats why I wanted to know if there were any secret places that the remains of nvidia might be hiding. Thanks

ThxI've used it in XP with no untoward effects other than it cleaning out the native nVidia WDM files that are included with XP. Installing the unified driver pack refreshes those anyway.
