I currently have a GF2PRO card but am going to switch to whatever nvidias latest offering is going to be this year. I'm pretty sure its going to be 8x AGP.

Now i was going to get a KT333 board but these only support up to 4XAGP. Would i be wasting money geting a KT333 board which won't support full potential of the 8X AGP or get a KT400 board which supports 8X AGP but arent fully developed as of yet?

If you used a card that has 8X AGP capabilities in a 4X AGP board it would essentially not be using that card to near it full capabilities correct?

Does this also affect the ATI 9700 pro since its 8X AGP i believe as well? If this card is used on current KT333 mobos is it being bottlenecked?

Thanks

it makes no difference
it'll still work
but if you are one of those "oh can't wasit 1 single FPS go away" type of person

then yeah if you use a 8x AGP card on a 4x AGP then of course you wont get it's full potential

rather logical
