I'm using IE 5.01 and want to know if it is possible to accept and use cookies from SysOpt but have them turned off for all other sites. I had forgotten how useful the colored folders and lightbulbs are here, and the only way to have them displayed is to enable cookies.

I'm not interested in any "third-party" software to manage cookies, I just want to know if it can be done through Internet Explorer. I know there's a feature called "Trusted Sites" in IE's security settings, but I'm not having any luck trying to add SysOpt there.

Thanks

I'm not sure - but in the old IE's there were a feature called: Always ask before accepting a cookie - is it still there in the 5'er? (geez - why don't i just look)

it's there! - Internet settings> security> user defined

There you go!

Thanks, but if that's the same as "Prompt" for "Allow cookies that are stored on your computer", then I'd rather be covered in honey and eaten alive by giant fire ants. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/redface.gif
On the "Prompt" setting, all you do is continually click on the "Yes" or "No" button to the cookie dialog box. If you click "NO" some sites will prompt you up to 2 dozen times to accept the cookie before the dialog box will go away. Even then, if you go somewhere else and then return to that site, you have to go through it all over again. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

I want all cookies disabled, all the time, except SysOpt.

There are some cookie management applications. I don't know any names but I know they are there...

I use "Cookie Crusher". Try it out and see if you like it.

Analogx also has a nice cookie management tool. And it's small....

Duh....I'm so stupid.

All I had to do was put "http://www.sysopt.com" in the list of trusted sites and customize the security setting to allow for cookies. The problem I was having was that I negelected to uncheck the box that says "Require server verification for all sites in this zone"

Nevermind all I had to do is use my brain... sometimes it goes completely numb.
