I'm an old shutterbug from Waaaaayy back so I get suckered by claims of spendor sometimes.

Anyway, got a Fuji MX-2900, ($899.00 Retail) 2.3 m'pixel 3x Optical camera with smartmedia 8mb card.

The colors are similar to Fuji's silver oxide film. They exaggerate the colors, which can be good sometimes.

On the worst setting that 1800x1200 or Basic, the crispness is staggering.

I need to test more, it seems as if there is some dead pixels or maybe the wind was blowing.
While taking pics out back today it was windy, so maybe the cats hair was moving instead of bad pixels in the CCD.

If that is the case,, EUREKA ,, What a Nice Camera..

It's my ,, err, I think 6th personal Digital Camera..

ONe nize machine.

I read over 80 reviews on it..

80% liked it. Throw out half of them, almost any new toy is nice when new.

I did read carefully the "informed" reader's post. Several claimed poor this and that, maybe they're used to a Hasselblad or Leica 2-1/4" or a 4x5 Portrait http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

I have said before, I bought a Casio QV3000EX/ir and IBM microdrive, 3.3Mpixel, 3x optical +2x digital, 270 ish piccies at 2048x1536.
Used it for my hol. in Florida, stunning quality, printed on the Epson 750 with photo paper..... wow. Better than yer average snap, cropped/ enlarged on the PC, then print exactly what you want.
The microdrive was a great buy, much cheaper in meg/£ than flash, and being able to edit the days shoot each eve, and delete the crud meant that all the pics I brought hame were good (at least technically).
Unusually, this time I am very pleased with my choice !

When I was in Florida a friend of mine visited me and he had this sony cam with the big Zeiss Zoom (he also brought this "zoom" for extreme wide pictures).
What a nice cam!!!
If I ever buy a digital PHOTO cam I will surely get the same he has....

Buuuhh, I'm still waiting for my digital video cam from JVC (it too is able to take digital photos at 1024x768!!)

6th one eh? Advice please? What do you mean dead pixels?
I have a Nikon 990. I'm just learning but so far I'm real pleased..especially with the manual stuff.. But any idea what I'm doing wrong to make some of the pictures (portrait dist) of people look like parts of their face or hair is greased? (really shiny almost luminous).
Surreal

and because of spelling....
