Are Portable MP3 players (eg Rio and Nomad) any good? Are they worth getting? Anyone got one? Interested to hear peoples' comments.

I have a Rio...Its kinda skimp on space (32mb just dont cut it).
What it does it does GREAT tho VERY small. Fits in any Jeans pocket (tad tight for normal jeans, GREAT pocket fit for clpping on khakis or baggy jeans. Headphones are cool, and fits with the everything in your pocket theme, althought not exacly puttin out the best output (no phones that size will). Biggest drawbacks were the skimp space and people askin WHOA U GOT A BEEPER? when u got it clipped in ur pocket, and then u hafta explain the whole MP3 thing to them.

Id recommend the nomad 64mb over the rio..drawbacks are higher price, and instead of working off a single AA (one of the best parts of the Rio) it runs off 2 AAA...might not matter that much to u but i got tons of AA's and no AAA's around..and when u run out of battery, forget askin ur friend if he has any spares, cuz no one carries AAA's in thier bookbags. I usta carry a motherload of AA's for my CD player. Rio is WAY better thana CD player w/ CD-r, except for the skimp space which really sucks.
Advantages of the nomad are - FM radio, 64mb storage space, docking recharger, and the ability to upload from the Nomad..using it as sort of a parallel port mobile HDD with 64MB and it doesnt hafta be MP3's..can be anything, althought you can only play MP3's (Rio is download only). I really like that porta HDD feature, maybe im just weird tho. =P
I think i got all my facts straight, but if i got anything wrong, im sorry. Just trying to shed some light on this overshadowed music realm
