hi everyone, i am ready to buy the xtasy 5632 geforce 2. (finally have the money). question is i would like to be able to play dvd on my tv, and i dont think this card has tv out. they make a 5632 card with tv out for 9 dollars more. It also has 64mb instead of 32mb. is this card (5632 with tv out) any good is it the same just with the tv out. another question: the price of the card (w tv out) is about the same as the geforce ti card...help! Thanks

Here are More info on the card you have in mind:
http://www.visiontek.com/5632.shtml

If you are After DVD
then nothing beats the ATI video cards

but if you have so decided to go for GeForce

then get At least a GeForce 3, but noticed that doesn't do such a good job on DVD

if you do choose to go ati get either the 8500 or 9000 to stay in your budget

check www.pricewatch.com
$77 - RADEON 9000 Pro
$67 - RADEON 9000
$86 - RADEON 8500
$98 - GeForce3

for DVD software get WinDVD

:t

thanks allgamer, I decided to stay with the card bill recommended. I will get a card with tv out later in the future. I ordered the card already. by the way remember all the help you guys gave me and i thought it was a heating problem? It turned out to be the drivers! I just installed some of the earlier (way early) drivers and it solved the problem. thanks

allgamer I paid 46.96 plus tax. I cant afford a more expensive card, is there something wrong with it? thanks

Too Bad, TK. If I had seen your post sooner, I could have saved you some money, and got you a slightly better card with TV out. (Don't know how good the TV out is, because I have never tried it, but it does have the S cable and output on the card) I would have shipped you a retail boxed MSI Geforce 2 Pro 32 mb DDR for $40. Even would have included latest nvidia certified drivers on a burned disk. :(

PS, Don't feel too bad though. For a new card, in your price range, I think you did the best you could. I just sold a 6 month old GTS-V for $30 shipped and it works fine, just a little slower than the MSI card.

Boy - you two are a freaking bundle of help. Try to make the guy feel bad, whydoncha.

I was getting 120 FPS in Q3 at 1024x768 32-bit color and textures on my GF2 GTS 32MB SDRAM before I swapped it out for a GF4 Ti4400. Frankly, I'm not that impressed with the GF4. FSAA 4x makes my normal Q3 settings choppy (25 FPS).

So where's the beef?

You'll love the card, TK. ;)

I had a geforce2mx 64mb before this current card and it hauls. Very nice for the $$$. i would have gotten the ddr version for a performance boost though
