I just installed an WD hard drive that supports ATA100, but my Abit BH6 mobo only supports ATA33. I was thinking of buying an ATA100 card, but had 2 questions.
First, will I notice a large increase in performance (enough to spend 50bucks)
Second, I am already out of IRQ's, do I disable the onboard IDE (irq14) & then the ATA100 card would pick it up?

Ditto what Caddmannq said

ATA100 can acheive up to 100MB/second bursts, but you'll never see any performance difference because few of todays hard drives are even capable of 30MB/second sustained transfers.

Here's a good review of ATA33-vs-ATA66 (http://www.hwupgrade.com/hd/ata66_vs_ata33/) . The conclusion on the last page is really all the information you need to know to make your decision.
