Ok well we all know there are those neat little USB connectors that connect the Play Station controllers to the PC. Well how 'bout other game systems, especially GameCube (don't laugh I happen to like those controllers:p)? Are there any USB connectors for GameCube controllers? I don't have GameCube but like the controller setup. I found a connector in like Hong Kong or something like that doing a Google search, but I'm not going to buy from there, what if it doesn't work!?!?! Anyone know of any out there?

hmmn.. i dont like Console controllers as a rule (especially plasytation ones - far too big and bluck :( ), but id be interested in using an N64 pad on my PC, as theyre the only gamepad ive ever felt 100% comfotable with... anyone know of anything similar to Ace's find for the N64??
Cheers

Hated all controler pad except X-box and Saturn controler pad coz they fits my hand nicely (big hand) :D But I preffer keyboard/mouse combo over controler mainly cuz mouse are easier to aim than the controler pad.

Or plenty others. Just run a Google search like "N64 USB" or something like that. But I just want to know if that GameCube USB connector seems legit and non-laggy. Any one? Also, can Mafia use a controller?

Mafia with a controller( yuck)
I know it can use a Joystick but it isnt as good as the keyboard/mouse setup.

Gamepads are good for a few games, like fifa, NHL and Crimson Skies... but for my ususal staple diet (ie FPS's) mouse and keyboard are the only way... :x

Well, in general I'm all for the mouse and keyboard, perhaps with some added joystick gaming. However, just curious for reasons of trying something new. I could see Mafia with a controller setup. Just wanted to see, that's all. May be interesting.:p

EXACTLY!!! Thies is the only controller I ever felt comfortable using, unlike XBOX, whichs forces my hand kind of open!!!
I think and N64 controller on the computer would be the coolest!!!

I'm getting both in one. There is a adaptor that allows the ps/ps2 and n64 paddles to be used on pc through usb, its the same adaptor. The first ones were on the parallel port though. I built one thats sitting right here so I know. Need a PS extension cable (so it plugs in like a PS consel or you have to cut the cord), a paddle (duh) 4 resistors if your using the P-port to power it, or you can use 9 volt external source. And a parallel port din from radio-shck about $3.00 for a metal one. Thats it. Got the plans if anyone wants them For both PS and N64 paddles. Support rumble packs too. You MUST know how to solder though and trace leads but its not hard at all. Also dont use the cheapy paddles this wiring is for PS brand only. I have had some odd prob.s with off brand ps paddles with this. So is the N64 through the parallel port. Great for gaming on a laptop though!:D
I also have the adaptor for using a keyboard/ps paddle and original sega paddle on the Sega Dreamcast. And of course the vga adaptor too! Those DC games look awsome on a 19" monitor, puts tv to shame for sure! And if you buy the generic adaptor like I, it runs all the games on VGA! Not just the ones marked like the sega brand adaptors do!

As far as paddles on PC. Some games HAVE to be played with a paddle. Like my two fav.s that always get the paddle whipped out. TH2 and TH3. Trying playing those with a mouse and key, I'll laugh my **** off. But yes FPS/mouse keyboard combo rules no doubt! Also my racing games I use a steering wheel, its not a cheapy. You havent played racing games on pc till you have used a GOOD racing wheel. Not those cheapo's they suck. Under $50. and its a crappy wheel every time.:( This is my 3rd wheel and its the best ever!

A joystick is my only option for flying simulation games, i.e. X-Wing Alliance, Tie fighter.
