I have an NEC Product Recovery cd-rom with Win95 OS. I have done a clean install of Win98 because I didn't want to upgrade 95 to 98. All the applications are on the NEC cd and are in a .gts and .gtz file format - compressed?. The problem is that I want to install some of the apps (Word 97B, Works 4.5, ect...) from the NEC cd. My question is - does any body know how to install the apps or possibly extract them so that I can install the apps. I don't have a clue. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks GB for your reply. The problem is that the application files are in single a folder on the NEC cd with the .gts and .gtz file extensions. I have tried to open this file format but not had much luck. If I could extract this folder then I could possibaly find the setup for the apps. What I need to know is what are .gts and .gtz file and how may I extract or run them.
I don't know how to help you at this point. All recovery CDs, I seen have folders of software that was preloaded.
This is how NEC(stands for 'Not Enough Care')make their PCs. I don't know about getting much help on NEC message board. But you can give a try. For me their Techs sound more like salesman. I have one NEC 7022, that I don't know what to do with.I wanted to update BIOS, but in NEC case -you got to buy new PC(of course NEC http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif)
In your case, I would go and buy software you want to reinstall and would NOT deal anymore with NEC.
