Being new to computers, I have found that once I open some web pages (Porn to be exact), I then receive bothersome e-mails....I suspect that somehow this info is IN my computer....HOW DO I GET IT OUT? I have deleted temp files, web temp files, cookie file (in windows)....HELP, thanks ahead...Alan

Uh, oh...you have opened pandoras box (no pun intended) Once they have your email address, you're basically screwed. Depending on your browser you can set filters to send that **** to your bulk mail folder, where it will be deleted after 14 days. Use such words as horny, sex, etc. in i.e. 5 to stop getting all the smut...

Well, AlanS, both Netscape and IE have filters to sort the garbage e-mail but if you want more control over your computers cookie intake so your privacy and e-mail doesn't get out of hand take a look at some cookie software. One that I have been using for a long time is called "Cookie Crusher" by Thesoftlimit. Another tool they have is called "Cyber Clean" which will clean out your browsing history with a click of the botton.
Have fun.

PS
If you have Netscape go to edit/preferences/advanced/ and uncheck the box to "send e-mail address as anonymous FTP password".
Good luck

I actually use CookieWall from AnalogX.com

You can find and read about it here:

Sixpac, has Cookie Wall been changed to work with Netscape??
I thought I would bring it up just in case AlanS wasn't using IE.

Can you block the senders?
