I would like to know what the following programs are,

Mediadet-I think this one might be for my cable modem from @Home.

DKservice
Ati2evx - probably for video card but not sure.

Dkservice = Diskeeper Defrag

Ctnotify = CTNOTIFY.EXE - Creative Lab's Disc Detector. This startup detects when you insert CD-ROM or DVD-ROM disks.

Often you can right-click on a filename to open a box that contains "Properties". Click on that to see how much information is available. This works in Find/Search For and Windows Explorer.
