AllGamer 09-13-2002, 11:30 AM huh?!?!?!? Tick 09-13-2002, 12:46 PM check seti@work AllGamer. You will catch up. AllGamer 09-13-2002, 01:00 PM ohh, actually check the other account YeungLui, that's the one we run here at work 80+ Tick 09-13-2002, 01:02 PM Huh? AllGamer is Vibe? or do you work with Vibe? AllGamer 09-13-2002, 01:22 PM no no, when i said we, was me and my co-workers, not me and vibe :Dp regrob 09-13-2002, 01:27 PM Hey Tick :t ,8.9 days and you'll be on top of me :( and then it's just a small step to ***vibe*** :r (pity so much free time goes into work) ....Reg gibsinep 09-13-2002, 06:55 PM I think Vibe is about to start kicking it though. :D vibe666 09-15-2002, 05:34 AM before you even get halfway there I'll be installing seti@home on about 50 machines at work, and even though they aren't exactly speedy machines, I think I'll be fine. I'm not sweating yet anyway :D I think in the next month, by my calculations I'll be in the top 10 again in a month. Anyway, who else here can say that they used to be number one :D Admittedly that was in the new year, and me and RampageIII were the only 2 members back then, but hey I was still No.1 :p :p :p gibsinep 09-15-2002, 01:27 PM I will be sad when you pass me. :( :( vibe666 09-16-2002, 05:28 AM don't worry mate, I'll be starting to throw a couple of machines your way as I start to get close to you. I wouldn't want to see you crying now would I? gibsinep 09-16-2002, 07:16 AM You are a very Generous person. :) vibe666 09-16-2002, 03:10 PM i haave my moments. don't be expecting a kidney or anything off me, I'm not that generous, but I can throw a couple of WU's your way no probs. it's not like I'm going short. ideally I'll want to be getting into the internal support side, as most of the machines get ghosted every now and again to get rid of problems, and it would be handy to get seti into the ghost image. let it do all the work for me :D gibsinep 09-16-2002, 04:54 PM I understand.:t vibe666 09-17-2002, 05:51 AM BTW, if you get the chance to stick seti on another machine, you can rename setihide and the CLI to something inconspicuous so they don't show up as obviously in task manager. if it's running on a machine you won't likely be using again then make sure setihide is set to run the CLI then exit, it will be even quicker as it doesn't record details and will be one less thing clogging task manager up. have a look in task manager for something that has more than one instance running and just renmae the CLI to that. bury the whole lot deep in the windows folders, hide it for good measure and 'roberts your fathers brother'. if you have 2K or XP that won't let setihide auto start on boot create a shortcut to setihide and place it in the startup group for all users and then hide it using it's properties and get it to exit after running the CLI. ain't I a stinker! gibsinep 09-17-2002, 06:42 AM Alright thanks. :t vibe666 09-18-2002, 07:15 PM i'm having trouble getting WU's finished on these work machines. they all keep getting turned off at night. might have to see what happens over the next few days. i've got (I hope) 3 machines done downstairs so far, but no WU's to show for it yet. D**n Pent. Pro's, got no guts in them, and they're all full of **** clogging the CPU and RAM that people have installed. guess i'll just have to be patient. i'll keep you posted and I'll throw you a bone when I start getting results. would you notice if it was only one extra WU every 2 or 3 days to start with? it's difficult to tell where the WU's are coming from and if its above average in the same account. gibsinep 09-18-2002, 09:21 PM All good things come to those who wait. ;) vibe666 09-19-2002, 06:28 AM and slow things. fingers crossed they work out OK and there isn't something stopping them somewhere in the network. home PC is going back to the rnetal guy next week sometime. Tick 09-19-2002, 12:47 PM From 61 days to 23 days in little over a week! Think I might get you before you get all those running Vibe, Then I will have to buy more # crunchers to keep up! Tick P.S. you might not be able to share any WU's if I keep climbing! vibe666 09-20-2002, 06:10 AM oh well. i'm getting there slowly. another machine to do today. i got 2 done yesterday, but they are all going very slowly. until i get about 20 going i don't think it's going to make much of a dent. I'm getting at least one WU a day over the last couple apart from the home ones, so something is working somewhere, but its hard to tell which one and where. gibsinep 09-20-2002, 03:53 PM Vibe feel lucky you have the oppurtunity., ;) vibe666 09-22-2002, 10:53 AM should be another 5 at least over the next week, maybe more if I get the chance, but the ghost image used is Win95 OSR1 so I'm having to install Winsock2 on them to get the CLI working, and for some reason on a clean install Winsock2 messes up the system. most of the machines have other stuff installed but I don't know what it is that's making the difference. it's weird, installing winsock2 messes up IE5 and Remedy, but Opera and Netscape still work OK. weird. ***viBe*** The Sysopt.com Users 2002 SETI@home team website is now ONLINE!!!
