Perfectly safe. I0's 09-12-2002, 05:36 PM COOOLLLL :r it cools it by 10 degree strat1 09-13-2002, 07:42 AM I have the same MB (MSI KT3) with an XP 2000 and had the same question. The PC Alert Cooler cools my system down by 7-10 C on the hot days when I tried it. Last night was cool here and my system was running at 38 under full load- so I forgot to try it. FYI, the CPU temp under Fuzzy logic and PC Alert are both off by at least 4 degrees on my system. I noticed this yesterday when I Downloaded Speed Fan (http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php) - I then doubled checked the #'s in the Bios. So you might want to check that out. Ruckus 09-13-2002, 08:11 AM Anyone know how I can get this program? I have a KT3 Ultra-2 but it only came with PC Alert III, which doesn't have this feature. I've already tried a program like VCool but it doesn't work. strat1 09-13-2002, 10:20 AM You will need to download the latest Software Here (http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/software/swr/spt_swr_list.php) It is just the latest Version-- it does seem to work better than the previous. I0's 09-13-2002, 04:20 PM FYI, the CPU temp under Fuzzy logic and PC Alert are both off by at least 4 degrees on my system. Ruckus 09-14-2002, 04:03 PM I just downloaded Alert 4 and I noticed the same thing, the temps are off by about 4-5 degrees. That's ok I guess, the CoolerXP option is working nicely :) Don't know what causes it though, under PC Alert 3 the temps match the BIOS ones so I have no idea... Ruckus 09-14-2002, 04:29 PM I just found out that you can run PC Alert III with CoolerXP since it isn't built into PC Alert 4, so that takes care of that problem :) crusious31 09-15-2002, 04:14 AM hey guys i was just ]wondering how you tell what temp your comp is running at? are you guys running a program that tells you or with just a guage that you stick in your comp? thanks and whats the best way to get a correct reading/ thanks much strat1 09-16-2002, 08:22 AM crusious31 Your system should have a monitoring program that can monitor the temps-- if not than downloadSpeedFan (http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php) -- works well for me - or after your system has been running for a while, reboot and look in your Bios. Ruckus Thank for the info- I now have the PC Cooler program in my startup folder so it is always running- I want to run PC Mark with and W/O that running to see what the system drain is -- any ideas ? crusious31 09-16-2002, 10:43 PM strat1 , where would i go to see if my comp has a program to read the temp and do most computers come with one? My comp is pretty new and im not shure what the program would be called or if it even has one. thanks much strat1 09-17-2002, 09:22 AM Just try Speed Fan, the link is in my previous post.
