When I try to update my BIOS, I get an error:
Cannot flash when memory managers (e.g. HIMEM) are present.
I cannot remember which folder HIMEM is in, do I need to disable it.
Thanks in advance

Remove the Autoexec.bat and config.sys files from you boot Disk.
Or press F5 while booting (only works w DOS 6.X)
Next time format your disk in true DOS using "format /s":)

Or you could just get the DOS7 boot disk from bootdisk.com
Here,http://www.bootdisk.com
BTW.. If you were trying to flash you BIOS while in windows, that was a big NO,NO.
Please be very carefull and ensure that you are 100% clear as to how to flash your bios for your mb or you could end up with worse problems! (like no boot)
I strongly advise copying you old BIOS to a floppy (via the flash utility) before actually flashing!
In example... with a award bios you use /pn /sy (progam chip=no, save old BIOS=yes)switches, but that depends on the type of bios on your mb. (award/ami/phoenix)
What is the mfg/make/revision of your motherboard?
Good Luck.
