i bought a hi-val 2242 CD-RW drive.
im using Adaptec easy CD creater software.
my writer worked well for the first 3-4 writes but after that one day when i satrted a session to record some 450mb data from my hard drive, the writer gave an error.
since then iv not been able to record a single thing.the damned recorder wasted my 4 new CDRs. now what should i do??and one more problem.....since then whenever i insert a recorded CDR,it doesnt access it to read.
Please help me find a solution!!!

Does it read any CD's, or is it in total failure?
All the best, Justy.
Are you able to select the dma box for your drives? This got mine going again without errors.
The last prob re recorded cdr and no access to read - do you mean the 'auto insert' is turned off or do you mean you just cant access it say in explorer or the 'easy cd creator' software?
Do you have enough room on your h/drive for a temp swap file? If your running low maybe that could cause a buffer prob.
I have a different burner but use the ez cd creator s/ware - works great for my stuff.
Does your h/drive need scandisk or defrag? If I'm doing a big burn I tend to defrag the drive that has all the files for burning. does it work, who knows? I just want to give it the best chance for a good burn each time.
Just a few real basic ideas to look at.

How's it going mubeen,
I assume you've tried what sns has said.
Got your email. From what I can pickup your saying;
That it is being seen by windows, and it can access the drive. If you try to install anything off the drive you get an "illegal operation error" causing the system to hang.
The problem has started since you installed MS plus98.
How long is the CD RW installed?
Do the CD's that you burned work OK in another CD?
Are the correct drivers installed?
Is the system configured correctly?
Did the fault occur directly after the MS plus98 installation?
What are your system spec's, i.e. mobo, cpu, memory, devices connected with the CD?
Sorry that it seems like I'm putting you on the long finger, but more information is needed.
All the best, Justy.
