I have a small problem. Whenever i try to uninstall any program i get an error message saying:

"Error Loading d:\progra~1\common~1\installshield\engine\6\intel
the specified module could not be found"

this happens for all programs...the one program that needs to go is logitech's control pannel, just purchased microsoft intellimouse and it warns me that i have another mouse control panel installed and want's to remove it.

I have tried reinstalling a few of the programs(including the logitech) but this does not help.

any ideas how to get rid of the error and allow me to take back control of my computer

Thanks in advance

that's sure is ODD
usually after a good RE-INSTALL
you should have been able to UN-INSTALL
properly... hmm...

well in that case just delete the files manually

and run this file from microsoft

MSICUU.EXE

do a search of that in MS website
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;Q238413&

it works for every program

then also run RegClean 4.x

that should do the trick
:t

Are you logged as Owner (XP Home) or Administrator (XP Pro) or as a user with Owner/Administrator rights?

I had a similiar problem with him...but mine had to do with MOHAA only. I couldn't un-install it!! It would say the setup has complete un-installation, but the files are still in the directory and MOHAA is still on the Add/Remove Program LIST!! Since I got tired of WinXP Pro's problems (Although it was better than 98 or ME)...i formatted my HD and installed Win2000 and IT is good!
