I just insatlled a new ASUS P4B533 MB. It supports USB 2.0. I installed a USB soundcard. Then I insatlled the drivers for the audio that came with the MB. Now the USB ports seemed to have died???

I tried to follow the directions to update to 2.0, but it won't work. Does anyone have any advice. The ASUS site said that if I did not upgrade to USB 2.0 Properly I may have to Format my drive again.

The USB ports died or the USB sound card? Windows can only use one sound system at a time. Check Preferred Devices in Sounds and Multimedia.

It seems now that ALL(6) the USB ports are dead. I know the soundcard is fine. For some reason all my USB ports died after I activated the MIDI/Joystick on the MB?

That's pretty bizarre. Are the USB controllers showing up in Device Manager? Which Windows version are you using?
