I just installed a new motherboard(ASUS P4B533) and new chip(PIV 2.4). I formatted. Began to load my programs. My Norton Systemworks did not load properly, since the program would not run and said it had to be reinstalled.

Another program loaded fine. However, when I went to installing it's upgrade, it would not load.

I loaded all the drivers to my outboard soundcard(Tascam US-428).It loaded fine. then I loaded the drivers to my MB sound device. They loaded fine, but then when i clicked on the 428 windows said it could not find 428 drivers..I tried to reload them and NOTHING???

I use WIN XP PRo....Should I format again.

Thanks

Man that sounds like a mess to me
sure it sounds like it's easier for you to start all over again for a better setup

else you gonna carry whatever BUGs you got right now on the long run, and that aint fun

Ok, I think I figured out my Tascam Problem..It's a USB soundcard. It installed and worked fine when I first installed it...Then I installed the drivers for the audio on the MB. That's when the USB ports seemed to die....My MB manual says to download the latest USB drivers from the MS site...Does anyone know which ones I should download? Will Windows Updated detect it????

There's no newer version for the USB drivers

unless you are in a VIA mobo
and needs the 4-in-1 via drivers

latest ones are 4.42

doing things backward if you're installing apps before you're done installing your video, sound and modem devices, etc.

gamer's right, start over and if you want to keep it simple, get the mobo stuff loaded (I don't know if you have integrated video and sound or LAN) - xp will see them if yes, if not put in each device at a time, let xp detect and load drivers, reboot - next card

once you have the mobo and all devices done, then install apps ;)
