I am very curios about getting into Web Development and web consulting. You know the type of business where I can get the majority of my work done at home building and repairing and updating servers web pages etc.I don't know anything about any of this stuff,But I would like to know where I might get started as maybe in looking at some sites to further understand this thing before I jump in with both feet by going to college for it or a training center...SIC...

Alot of professionals use Photoshop to design pages and then port them over to HTML as images. This might be something you might look into as well.

Contact your local community college. They probably have an information technology department with counselors skilled in advising people considering such a career. You can even study at home over the internet with most community colleges. I suggest a cc, rather than a university, because they are easier to get into and specialize in re-training people in the local community.
