Two days ago, my modem would log onto the internet at speeds between 41 - 42,666Kbps. Now I only get a max speed of 26,400. I haven't changed anything.

Is there a setup standard that will get the fastest speed using Win98 2nd Edition with Juno as the ISP?

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be a loss of drivers for the modem. It some how ended up using a Windows default driver that dropped it down to about the same as yours.I couldn`t get the darn thing to take the factory drivers and wound up getting a different modem.

One way of improving your connection is to play around with the registry files, here is a good site with lots of info:
www.regedit.com (http://www.regedit.com)

Hope it helps,

It could be unrelated to your machine. Phone lines and traffic on the ISP play a big part in connection speed. Try another access number.

What kind of modem do you have?
