ok, so you have a noisy box and there's not much you can do on hardware replacement, and placing the box 5 miles away from your monitor/keyboard/mouse isn't an option either.

Are there any other strategies to escape the noise?
I'm thinking of using alot of pillows to muffle the box, but it might suffocate and die.

Any idea?

A few things from my personal experience:

Intake fans don't make nearly as much a difference as exhausts, I use 2x Tt smart fan exhausts and no intakes. With 2 sunon 39 CFM intakes my temperatures are identical in a Lian-Li PC6085 case. In my Antec SX-1200 full tower the cpu temps are actually lower without intakes.

Use smart fans of any brand! They OWN!

Proceed to the local I.C.E distributor, Purchase some sound proof carpeting\matting, cut to size and glue to the inside of your case! making sure to slice some slots where your intake and exhaust fans are located.

Now Then! where's this challenge you've got for us... I just Luuuuurve :-@ a challenge.

I assume that you have never seen the matting I refer to, there are many different types and they're not all flammable.

Visit your local In Car Entertainment store and tell them your exact requirements!

Anyhew! what the hell is a spark doing inside your case in the first place, nobody mentioned dodgy wiring.

thanks straw. :)
I assume you're talking about the matting applied at cracks and all. Don't you think noise would escape out the many holes in the back and front of the chassis? Just wondering.

oh about sparks, it's not just the dodgy wiring, there are so many components to worry about. ;) And I don't think we pc builders in here are also experts on fire hazards. :) hehe

Polystyrene tiles, paste on to the side top and double thick at bottom, taking care the airflow in and out is sound.(excellent heat unsulator too)

Also highly flammable, but who's got there pc next to an open fire anyway? or an electric one for that matter. pc's need cold.

dirt cheap solution.:)

Peel 'n stick cork panels will work too, plus you get a bonus, there's a place to tack notes. :)
